KEVIN ROTH-The Painter
Oils on Canvas. Giclee Reproductions
The idea came to me after seeing a cat in the window of an older brick home in Milton, Wisconsin. The photo is of my children when they were 3 and 1/2 years young. The table was one I made in 10th grade shop class.
Finished at the end of 2013, Ready to Pounce is from the perspective of the bird in the bird house. I took the image from a photo of the owl I had taken earlier in the year in Middleton.
Finished in November 2013. 20x30 oil on canvas. The truck belongs to friends Kay and Forrest, so naturally I named it after them. You will see Forrest in the upper right chopping wood.
A yearly tradition, camping with the Breunigs'and Statzs'. I chose separate photos of each to paint. Since I am also the photographer, there were few shots of me to use, so I used my head from one pic and the body of Jim from another. The frame was made by Al(front right) as a gift.
Bleeding Hearts was the fourth in the series and the first that I had used the background as I saw it. We planted them a few years ago, and I love looking at them every summer when they bloom.
Schmidt Farm was named for my brother-in-law who died while I was finishing this painting. I liked the idea of a cowgirl and her horse.
